Why Pray for President Donald Trump?

October 6, 2020 0 Comments

As you already know President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania have both tested positive for the Covid19 / Coronavirus. And at the time of writing this, President Trump has just left Walter Reed Hospital and is back at the White House

In this video I briefly explain why it is important for Christians to pray for their leaders even if they have major issues with them. Be sure and watch to the end for we will also pray for Joe and Jill Biden.

To say that President Trump is a polarizing figure is a major understatement. Some love him and others, well, not so much. As Christians we have to remember we live by a higher standard. A higher standard that is above the worldly system of politics.

Whether or not you support the President we are compelled to pray for him.

First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. – 1 Timothy 2:1-4 (CSB)

Paul urges us to pray for our leaders. Note we are called to pray for not pray against

Even if you think that President Trump has caused great harm to our nation, Paul tells how to respond:

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse – Romans 12:14 (CSB)

Here in the U.S. we are entering into a very heated presidential election. I am not going to tell you how to vote. I just want to be like Paul and urge you to pray for the strength and healing for the President.

Also, I want to urge you to pray for Joe Biden. Vote for who you will but pray for the blessing of both men. Let’s have faith enough that God’s will be done come November 3rd.

Prayer is a powerful tool where we have the chance to partner with the will of God
