A Prayer for Orlando

June 14, 2016 2 Comments

As we all know early on Sunday Morning Omar Mateen entered the Pulse Gay Nightclub killing 49 and injuring another 50+. This horrible act of terror marks its self as the deadliest mass shooting in US History.

For the past two days I have been praying for Orlando and all those involved:

LentHeavenly Father I pray that you engulf those who have been injured and the family and friends who lost someone close with your grace and peace. Let your mercy rain down and bring healing to their wounds. Heal the wounds that are physical and those that are emotional. Pour out your love so hate can find no place. For any that don’t know of the redemption found only in your son Jesus Christ I pray that the Holy Spirit draw them into your saving grace.

I pray for the Muslim community. Let your love find its way to drive out the hate. Let you spirit move on them to call them into your saving grace found only in your Son. Jesus is the only way.

Work in forgiveness for that is the only path to peace. Let all involved see the value in the other and that we are all created in the image of God. Open our eyes so we can see that we are all a people who are in desperate need of a savior who is Jesus Christ. And it is in His name I pray, Amen.

I am enthusiastic about helping others discover their purpose and grow into a deeper relationship with Jesus. It is great to see their eyes light up at their “Ah Ha!” moment when they discover they were created for something more. My hope is that this blog will help encourage and inspire you along your way. Join the conversation and take the time to share with me your own story. I have been married to my beautiful wife Janice for over 30 years. We currently live in McDonough Georgia with our daughter. Our two boys have left the nest and we have two wonderful grand kids. Of course we cannot forget about our dog Bear.
