Come and See What God Has Done!
Merry Christmas!
What a wonderful holiday for us to remember the birth of our savior.
Come and See What God has Done!
It is incredible to think that God himself, the creator of heaven and earth, stepped away from his throne and clothed himself with human flesh. He would grow within his mother’s womb for nine months. He would not be born in a palace but a feeding trough for livestock. He would be helpless as his mother would feed him and change him just like any other baby. However, he would grow to become the savior for the world.
Come and See What God has Done!
On that first Christmas shepherds out in the field were greeted by a host of angles telling them of Jesus’ birth. Shepherds who were considered the outcasts of society. They were not clean enough to enter the temple in Jerusalem. Yet the angels came to them. Calling them to come and see what God has done. Your savior has stepped out of heaven to bring light to the dark world.
Come and See What God has Done!
The shepherds left behind their flock and made their way to Bethlehem. Unable to enter the Temple they were welcomed to enter the humble barn. Amid the smell of hay and manure they looked upon the face of their savior. There they bowed down and worshiped.
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. Luke 2:15-20 (NIV)

I hope that amid the busyness that often comes with Christmas you will find time to reflect on a God who is so madly, passionately in love with you he sent his son to walk this earth, die and rise again for your behalf. Take time today to remember his birth.
… the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” – John 4:16 (NIV)
I hope that you and your family will have wonderful and blessed Christmas. And I pray throughout the coming year of 2017 you will all be engulfed by the grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. May you receive the spirit of God’s wisdom and revelation so that you and your family might know him better. – In Jesus holy name, Amen
