When Prayer and Fire Mix

January 29, 2016 0 Comments

As you can tell from the vast majority of my blog posts I am a Pastor. That does not make me special; God has just called me to help a community walk out their faith in Jesus. I have thought for a while now I would start sharing a few of my Sunday sermons. I will not  post every week but when I do post a sermon it will be on Fridays. My wife Janice are blessed with a lot of leaders who are great preachers and teachers and part of our calling is release others into their own giftings. This means that some months I may only preach one time.

When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people, on the golden altar in front of the throne. The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God from the angel’s hand. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake. – Revelation 8:1-5

The prayers of God’s people rise to heaven where they are mixed with the power of God. They then return back to earth where something powerful happens.
